Entry-level Ford Explorer models will employ a more powerful 300-horsepower 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine that is married to a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. With this powertrain under the hood and a Class III Trailer Tow Package, the 2.3-liter Ford Explorer will tow up to 5,300 pounds. Explorer Platinum trim levels feature a 365-horsepower 3.0-liter EcoBoost® V-6 paired with a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic to tow 5,600 pounds of cargo.

An all-new, track-tuned Ford Explorer ST sets the bar high with a power-packed 400-horsepower 3.0-liter EcoBoost® V-6 under the hood that will shell out 415 pound-feet of torque. Paired with Intelligent 4WD, the Explorer ST provides thrill seekers with a top speed of 143 mph that is amplified by a Sport Mode, 21-inch aluminum wheels and a performance-tuned suspension. Fuel-efficient Ford Explorer Hybrid entries will employ a 3.3-liter V-6 hybrid system that will manufacture 318 total horsepower and a 500-mile driving range.
